The Dating♥Sim Review
This site needs more romance and anime! Geeksquisite author Steph is here to satisfy your feminine side with one of the most famous dating sims out there. Kana: Little Sister is quite possibly the saddest game I have ever played. This game was originally released in 1999 and translated in English in 2002. A remake of the original was created in 2004 under the title Kana Returns.
Kana: Little Sister is a visual novel: a digital book for those who are too lazy to read real books. You are an average guy named Takamichi Todo aka Taka and your sister, Kana Todo, suffers from chronic renal insufficiency. Her constant kidney failure causes her to remain hospitalized most of her life. Kana's fate depends on your actions throughout the game.
Although Kana: Little Sister is rated 18+ I believe anyone of any age could understand and enjoy this game. The hentai scenes are very tame considering they are not even animated. Your girlfriend and childhood sweetheart, Yumi Kashima, provides beautiful busty relief in the middle of this depressing tragedy. Taka finds himself torn between this gorgeous babe and his dying sister! What are you going to do?
Let's talk about some things before I move on to ratings. There are six endings and to really get the best of the game I suggest you play through a few times to get all the scenarios. I'd like to mention this game has very few bugs ... it's not much of a bug, but you have to wait for sound effects to completely finish before you can click ahead. It's kind of annoying because I kept thinking my computer was freezing up. The gallery view is a little buggy too.
Story: 9/10
The story makes up for everything else the game lacks. It's absolutely brilliant despite the incest. You're a heartless monster if you don't feel anything for these characters.
Graphics: 5/10
Going halfway on this because the artwork is beautiful and the scenery is done very well; however, the game itself looks like it was created using Microsoft PowerPoint.
Sound: 7/10
No complaints from the music of this game. It's very appropriate unlike some anime I've watched where the soundtrack is from a 70s porno. I actually like how they did not include voice overs. I don't have to listen to obnoxious hentai moaning during the dirty parts.
Gameplay: 2/10
There basically isn't any gameplay. All you do is read text and make decisions. (Some decisions are almost impossible ... do I do my sister or do I not do my sister?)
Overall: I'd give this game a 6/10. If you get a chance to play this you must you must you must you must.

the bug thing reminds me of the video game nerds video on "Plumbers Don't Wear Ties". With the whole and go ahead until the sound effect ends thing.
