Aliens vs Predator Trailer
Kotaku highlighted this new trailer, and boy I am seriously considering this game
Edit: it's not new, but for some reason many of us didn't notice it.
Tech News: Remote Start Iphone App
For those interested, here is a picture of the interface you can use in lieu of your viper remote start fob
I have to wonder if this will be available for other remote start systems, or be compatible with them. You also have to have a WiFi connection for it to work, this worries me because it's impossible to know when you won't have a connection. Sadly I bring this up to tell people to avoid leaving the viper fob or their keys if they are interested, because since it depends on WiFi it's too risky if you decide to leave your key fob and keys at home.

Modern Warfare 2 originally planned CO-OP
We are all looking forward to Modern Warfare 2, any news of what they wanted to do or didn't do catches my interest. A website named VG247 revealed that MW2 was originally going to have a CO-OP feature, and even though I don't mind they cut that it did make me think about CO-OP in video games today.
Personally I am glad they didn't include CO-OP in this game because I wonder if CO OP ruins a game sometimes, since most games don't set up harder difficulties if it senses more than one player. I saw this a lot with Halo: ODST, the game is a lot more time consuming when played alone.
I really think CO OP needs to be left out of a game UNLESS they design CO-OP where each player is on his own and does things where it assists the other player. A good example of this is the Gears of War 2 co-op which made you dependent on the other player.

Queen Rock Band?
1UP had some news regarding plans for a Rock Band game based on Queen songs, highlighting the "eagerness" of Brian May that Queen would get a treatment similar to Beatles Rock Band.
Beatles Rock Band was a curious concept considering it would center around just Beatles songs, rather than easy-to-sell hits from many bands. Face it, it wasn't hard to like the Beatles. It was a profitable venture that even demands its own DLC, although this isn't confirmed.
But Queen, okay sounds like another winner but in a lighthearted way I find it not necessary. Queen isn't as universally liked or long in its existence as the Beatles were, that's not enough to make me NOT WANT Queen Rock Band. Although, Queen Rock Band sounds a bit funny, it sounds more feminine than about the band LOL!
But if Queen songs have already appeared on Rock Band DLC, what is the point of making a seperate game when Queen could just put the songs as DLC. I guess seeing how popular they were led to them wanting to cash in, not that I blame them.

Geek Spaces: Ed's gaming collection
Ed shows off his gaming collection.
500 Posts Strong and many more to come
I thought I might just mention a few of my favorite moments since starting up this site back in May.
1. Our third week: The first two weeks just didn't quite do as good as we hoped and the site just wasn't getting a descent amount of traffic. We didn't even have a ton of direction just ideas with no sure way of how to execute them. The third week came and all of a sudden we started putting out about 5 or so original post a day and reviews started to come out left and right and our traffic began to rise. This is the point where we pretty much reached the next level and out paced the traffic that Midnight Multiplayer (our former site) achieved in a year.
2. E3 2009: I'm just so happy and proud of all the coverage we did. We had over 40 articles between 3 of us myself, Rob, and Ed at the time and recored 3 podcasts on the event. It was a great milestone for us and one that we are still trying to match.
3. The Podcast: I know we've been light on shows lately. Sorry about that but it has a lot to do with everyone having school and different schedules. But ever since changing the title and stepping up our game we've enjoyed the company of over 8 different guest and a bunch of new podcasters. It is always a lot of fun to release a new show and see what people think of it. As we approach our 50th episode, yet another milestone I look forward to us upping our game.
4. Bioshock Event: This event was an incredible day which we shared with you all in the Bioshock videos. The event itself might have been a bit lackluster but the journey there and back was quite memorable and for me and the other authors a hell of a fun morning.
5. The Future: The unknown is always the most exciting and most scary. I don't know where we'll be in a year all I can hope and strive for is for improvement and for us to keep learning and releasing higher quality content as the months and hopefully years come.
Thank you everyone whose been a part of this from the start and too those who have just found us. We love you all and thank you for the good times.
Geek Gadgets: BANANA BATTERY CHARGERS!
So, you’re kicking ass in COD 4 and next thing you know you hear the infamous click sound of your controller dying. “SHIT” you yell as you see someone on the other team run up to you and to be a complete dick they stab you rather than just getting a headshot. What do you do? YOU GRAB YOUR BANANAS! Imagine how cool you will be as you pop out two new rechargeable batteries out of a pair of glowing bananas!
You’ll be the life of the party! On the other hand, you could just be tool that is trying to turn their whole life into a running Mario Kart gag. Novelties have never really made sense to me, but after some thought I can see how someone could like these bananas. Instead of having that brick attached to your outlet (or in this case, your computer), you get some decorative bananas that attach to your laptop. Another benefit is these batteries can be recharged on the go, so no running out of batteries when you can’t charge them.
The bananas themselves can charge 2AA or 2AAA batteries at a time. They fit on the palm of your hand, so although they can be a source of decoration, they will not end up being the biggest decoration in your room. The bananas have lights in them to both indicate charging and completion of charge. For a price of $22.00 it seems a little steep, I guess that is what you get when you are buying a novelty. If you are interested in the battery bananas this is where you can get them http://www.usbgeek.com/prod_detail.php?prod_id=1134 .
