Swing Vote Review

Ah the joys of Netflix, being dragged into the living room by family to watch some film I have never heard about. I have plenty of homework to do, but let me tell you I am so glad I sat down to watch Swing Vote.

Bud Johnson is a laid back worker in New Mexico with a daughter during a fictional alternative 2008 presidential election. In this movie, the election came down to one state, and one popular vote holds back the election from being decided. Seems like a crazy concept, but as someone who studied constitutional law; it IS possible for this to happen.

I have heard so much negative commentary about Kevin Costner as an actor, but I liked his performance very much in this movie. Being a single parent to his daughter portrayed him as a unmotivated alcoholic, he doesn't cook or even fulfill simple promises to his daughter. It is one thing to portray that role, it also lends itself to a quick hollywood change in attitude when the script calls for redemption. Things like that limit a film in its believability, although I don't worry about it so much. Thankfully director Joshua Stern didn't compromise the character study of Bud Johnson for the sake of plot, Costner deserves credit for that too.

Speaking of his daughter, Molly was played wonderfully by Madeline Carroll. Yeah, I was a little disappointed that we didn't get to see her side in politics. Yes, she was of the mind to be a good citizen and apparently that's enough for the audience. The movie did send a good message about civic duty, connected with Molly Johnson's character. Molly's struggle in this movie is just so easy to sympathize with, with the moments of "silent thought" in the film really pushing the emotion in this film instead of being dumbed down into words.

The movie also does a good job of putting the mirror in front of the characters, making them question their roles in politics. Yes the movie addresses politics, but not a specific issue directly. Instead, its an overall judgement story of the characters as to being true to themselves with no compromise. That really won me over, and I got a little "choked up" as the movie progressed from a combination of sad reality and a REALLY WELL DELIVERED monolouge by Kevin Costner.

I recommend this movie, its such a good film to pull out when you feel moody. It just makes me want to raise the american flag and ironically go out and vote when you see the impact your vote really causes. This movie shows that, and I was reflecting on my own views during this movie.

So for that, the movie gets an 8 out of 10.

See it.

Green Lantern: First Flight Review

Although this movie came out last year, First Flight had it's Cartoon Network premiere today. With the Green Lantern movie finally on its way into production, I wanted to get a general idea of Green Lantern as a super hero.

Well, Green Lantern First Flight is not a rich story per-say. It has Green Lantern material in it, but the dialogue suggests this movie was going for attitude instead of being deep. That's fine, I enjoyed it. I do recommend this movie because its good for fans of Green Lantern and people new to the Green Lantern story like myself. Having Christopher Meloni voice Hal Jordan was an interesting step, Meloni has a great diversity in acting.

As a whole the movie is decent, even earning a chuckle or two. If there is one thing I hoped for, it was seeing what the order of the Green Lantern does with it's rings. Hal Jordan earned a few chuckles out of me with what he created to fight a bug race at one point. In a way its simple-minded of Jordan and also insulting to bugs that can shoot your damn head off.

One scene in particular reminded me of the alien death scene in Alien: Resurrection when Jordan was making his way through the ship to Kanjar Ro. I hate that i'm thinking about that mediocre movie, but the similarity is quite noticeable.

If there was one scene that was powerful, it was seeing rings fall from the sky of dying Green Lanterns who had the misfortune of needing their powers to breathe. Such an impact that has on you, as helpless dying scenarios always seem to.

One of the Green Lanterns, Boodikka, seemed like the typical feminine character that sympathizes with the under-appreciated hero AKA Hal Jordan. Then, she suddenly has a good reason for doing that. It basically surprised the hell out of me and made her seem less one dimensional, although it came a bit too sudden it was welcomed by me.

If there was one thing I could nitpick about, it would be Hal Jordan's super form. Not going to elaborate but when you see it, it doesn't seem as imposing as it should and hardly any thought into the "transformation" process.

Oh well, that's a small disappointment. But I enjoyed Green Lantern: First Flight and give it a 3/5.

Movie Review: Daybreakers

I had recently went to see Daybreakers, a movie that I didn't know too much about, but saw a few cool looking commercials for. My expectations for the film weren't extremely high, but I thought it looked good. First, let's just take a look at how cool the movie's poster is. the contrast between the red and the black, the big bold letters, the creepy looking face, and the bloody looking texture, now that's how you do a good movie poster.

But enough about that, let's talk about the movie itself. The film is set in the future, it's never stated how far, but all of the technology seems to have advanced, the only thing is, the majority of the population are now vampires. Edward Dalton (played by Ethan Hawke) is a vampire who is working for a company that harvests humans and is trying to find a substitute for blood, so that humans and vampires may one day live in peace. there are also the blood-deprived vampires, who end up looking more like demon-spawns, that we're introduced to early on.

Without spoiling anything, the movie take a couple of twists, most of which were fairly predictable. However, the movie has a nice change of pace both in terms of the type of vampires and in terms of originality.

These vampires aren't the lovey-dovey daylight-sparkling vampires of Twilight that we've recently been accustomed to hearing about. These vampires are the old-school, burn in the daylight, bite the necks of humans vampires, and it's refreshing to see them return to the big screen.

It's also refreshing to see an original concept instead of the same cookie-cutter movie you see a lot nowadays. Both in terms of setting and characters, the movie feels completely unique, and it's nice to see a director take some risks.

The production value was also very nice, the sets were great and really immersed you in the world. The special effects were nice, very good looking blood, gore, some very nice death scenes, however the burning effect kind of looked a little too CG, of course, I think I'm biased just based on the fact that Avatar looked so pretty.

Overall, Daybreakers is a great popcorn flick for anybody who likes a good sci-fi or horror movie. While it doesn't re-invent either genre, it definitely makes for an entertaining movie throughout, and one that I'd definitely see again.

I give Daybreakers 4 out of 5 stars.

Ed's Trailers of the Month: December

My apologies for not posting, I have had some animosity towards certain contributors of this blog who are in no shortage of insults towards me. They know who they are, and will be grateful I am still posting.

Since I have animosity towards a certain member, I have decided to release my trailers of the month which has been gathering dust.

1. Inception

The actual trailer doesn’t reveal the plot as much as some hope it would, but it gives us a general idea of this as a Psychological Thriller. I personally look forward to this movie, if anything the movie is indeed a big budget indulgence of Christopher Nolan’s mind.

2. Iron Man 2

Must see! I look forward to seeing Don Cheadle as War Machine, but damn Mickey Rourke as Whiplash looks badass. The trailer has me excited, and man does it tease me with all the new elements for the second movie.

3. Shrek Forever After

Do I dare give Shrek another chance after how bad the third one was? The premise removes the stupid kids they had at the end, and starts over the relationship for all of them. This is the final movie; can they make up for the third movie?

4. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

Nicolas Cage is hit and miss. This movie looks pretty damn fun and REALLY goes for imagination with the visual effects. The last part of this trailer is a testament to how good Nic Cage is when he’s crazy. I can’t help but think maybe they showed too many of the visual effects in the trailer, which would suck exponentially if this movie isn’t anything else but visual effects.

5. The Crazies

I really don’t go for horror thrillers anymore because they don’t really have the ability to scare you anymore, this one might. I almost thought this was a zombie film with the way the disease was affecting people, but it seems to be something “more”.

Hope at least one movie got your attention.

Ed's Top Five Recommended Christmas Specials

Christmas is upon us, and one of the things we love about the holiday is the barrage of Christmas special movies. Christmas specials are entwined within our hearts and part of memories with our familes, a tradition we pass along to our future families. So many movies around the sentimentality of Christmas are made, and here are five I hold in high regard

1. A Christmas Story
Did you honestly believe I wouldn't put this movie first? Not only is it highly regarded but it has some really genuine moments we can all relate to. The narration is SO good in this movie, and it even has some good laughs. The blatantly unrealistic moments in Ralphie's imagination when he has his BB gun are priceless to watch.

2. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
The live action one with Jim Carrey is crap, it seriously fails in it's cheap gags to even be close to sentimental. The animated 1966 movie however is a classic. It's a perfect movie for those trying to find the Christmas spirit, even when it seems the Grinch is going to steal Christmas; the Whos prove him wrong. There's something magical about the singing of "Fahoo Forays" that really gets to me every time I watch it.

3. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer
Everyone knows who Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is, he's in songs and he is in movies. his movie is his origin story of Rudolph and a story of his unintended journey to save Christmas. The musical numbers are pretty entertaining, especially the "Misfits" bit. Burl Ives, a man known for his timeless Christmas numbers narrates this timeless adventure.

4. Olive the Other Reindeer
This movie is not as high on the list for most people, but I personally recommend it. It seems to be my favorite one for some reason, maybe its because the drive of Olive the Dog is mishearing that Santa needed all of the other reindeer, which she heard as Olive, the Other Reindeer. That is a good chuckle that will stay with you throughout the whole movie. While the animation is nothing spectacular, the imagination of the animators as Santa delivers gifts around the world is pretty entertaining.

5. A Charlie Brown Christmas
Always been a Peanuts fan, really enjoyed their take on Christmas. Fans of the Peanuts gang debate over Charlie Brown and his redeeming values, many viewers will say "good grief" in this Christmas special. This movie even with all the issues of Christmas still holds true to the meaning of Christmas. Regardless of difficulties at Christmas, the arrival of the holiday brings peace in your heart and a willingness to stand together to enjoy the holiday. Nothing says that more than the touching way this film progresses and ends.

So those are my top five Christmas specials, some are typical and some will not appeal to you as much as others. That is completely fine, in the end its all about the magic, hope, heart and meaning of the upcoming wonderful holiday.

Trailers of the Month: October 2009

Ed's Picks:

Toy Story 3 Trailer #2

Do I really have to explain this? Fine, it’s probably Tim Allen’s only good role where he’s used effectively, and the Spanish reset thing concerning Buzz looks hilarious. Plus it’s Toy Story, a great set of movies made by Pixar who can do no wrong with how hard they try.

Avatar Trailer #2

I understand James Cameron has never made a bad movie yet, but I refuse to hype a movie BEFORE I see a real trailer that tells me everything. Then the international trailer came out, and it was really good. Put this movie on your list of must see films.

Edge of Darkness Trailer

Mel Gibson in a leading role again? Interesting, although this movie sounds like it’s been done before. However it is a compelling looking movie, I won’t lie. Mel Gibson definitely helps build a strong movie.

The Maiden Heist Trailer

This looked like a simple comedy you could laugh and forget about, but having Morgan Freeman, Christopher Walken and William H Macy as the guards looks hilarious. This could be one of those movies with only a few good jokes but great performances can make up for that immensely. I did laugh a few times while watching the trailer.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of New Orleans Trailer

Nicholas Cage does everything he gets, and for some reason that makes me a fan of him for trying to be flexible. The way he performs in the trailer has me tempted to see this movie. But jeez, Xzibit’s in this movie? That kind of says how serious they were with the casting, especially with someone who shouldn’t be acting.

TJ's Picks

Avatar Trailer #2

Other then The Hobbit this has been my most anticipated movie for over two years. I have been patiently waiting for some footage for a long time. I saw the first trailer and it was bleh and then I saw the Avatar Day footage which was incredible but didn't give a mountain of information regarding the main plot of story. Well here for the first time we get a 3 minute story trailer for Avatar and it is nothing short of incredible. Watch it enjoy it and if you don't see it I might just have to write you and angry e-mail.

Me and Orson Welles Trailer

I'm a film major of course I'm interested in a movie with and partially about Orson Welles. He might have lost his luster as he aged but while in his prime Orson Welles was one of the biggest personalities and egos on the planet. He's a fascinating person to study and delivered one of the greatest films of all-time Citizen Kane. I think Zac Efron has a lot more talent then his High School Musical career so far has given him. This is his chance to show us what he's got, good luck Zac.

Toy Story 3 Trailer

Not sure what to say other then it's more of the greatness that is the Tory Story franchise. I have to admit after 15 years since the first film came out I have had my fill of this franchise and wish we were getting something new from Pixar instead but I'm sure it will be great regardless. Where's my A Bug's Life sequel thats what I wanna know.

The Crazies Trailer

Zombies are the new vampires and the vampires are the new pussies. While the film indicates the zombies in this film to be a bit more of a supernatural background then a infection one it still seems interesting to me. Almost like a cross between The happening, Body Snatchers, and Stephan King minus the Shyamalan. Plus any trailer that uses Madworld has got my vote.

Invictus Trailer

The casting of Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela is about as obvious a casting choice as there can be. I'm a little concerned with his accent since in some scenes he has it and in some it seems to be missing. I'm still excited though and Matt Damon seems to be putting on a potentially oscar worthy performance. This is a film to watch.

Trailers of the Month: September 2009

Hey everyone sorry were a few days late with these. Hope you enjoy.

ED's Picks:

From Paris with Love Trailer

Okay, this director who made Taken kept me entertained but also has a very fast paced movie direction. Having said that I liked Taken, and the idea of John Travolta being a cold, calculating no questions to ask partner to Meyer’s character made me consider this movie.

Trick or Treat Trailer

There has been very few good horror movies in recent years, mainly due to desensitization and lack of originality. Having said that, Trick or Treat has an interesting interweaving of four stories and I especially was curious to what was happening to the people and the “rules” you can’t break on Halloween. Could be fun.

A Christmas Carol Trailer

Why should I care about a story I’ve seen and heard so many times…
Jim Carrey as Scrooge
Zemeckis’s motion capture technology
I’m a Disney Fan
The trailer looked fun

A Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer

Hate remakes, but production values changed for Platinum Dunes regarding this movie. Jackie Early Haley seems like a good Freddy, I’ll have to see what rotten tomatoes rates this thing upon release though.

The Fantastic Mr. Fox Trailer

I think George Clooney should be in more roles period, I don’t see him enough. This looks like a great chance for him to perform, Owen Wilson’s character towards the end was pretty funny. And there is something about this movie’s animation style that is so appealing to me and so suited for this comedic take.

TJ's Picks:

A Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer

The biggest problem I've had with all these remakes is the actual photography. I don't like the look of Nispel's films. The cinematography just feels to clean and smooth for what I think a horror film should look like. That seems to continue from what I see in the trailer. Other then that though, I'm pretty excited mostly to see more of Jackie Earle Haley who is quickly becoming one of my favorite character actors.

Solomon Kane Trailer

I didn't even know about this movie before the trailer but I'm really excited. It looks like a ton of fun and a bit darker then your typical action movie. Adult themed fantasy films not geared towards children is pretty rare, so this should be fun.

Michael Jackson's This is It Trailer

Not sure how many people know this about me but i'm a HUGE Michael Jackson fan so it's impossible for me to not be looking forward to this film. Think of him what you will there's no doubt the late icon made one hell of a mark on music history.

Defendor Trailer

I'm a huge Woody Harrelson fan and can't wait to see this superhero comedy. It has this great quirk about it that I just can't wait to catch in theaters. I hope the movie lives up to the great trailer.

The Fantastic Mr. Fox Trailer

Aright so how awesome does this movie look? FUCKING AWESOME, thats it. This seems like just crazy enough it might just work ideas. I can't say I'm really a bit Wes Anderson film but I'm excited.

5 minutes of 2012..............OMFG!!!!

Look can we get this out of the way, the movie will have terrible acting (Cusack is exempt from being anything less than awesome in everything), and unbelievably convoluted and contrived plot. But and there is a big ass but, this film is going to be just EPIC in all measures of the word. I think critics, filmmakers, and fanboy 15 year olds can be extremely snotty and elitist but I know one thing for a fact. That is that I have a lot more fun at the movies then they do. I work on films all the time and yes I love a good ole' fashioned drama like anyone else but I also like to see things explode. These movies are far and inbetween, if you think about it we must have 1,000 movies a year between dramas and comedies and only a handful of big sci-fi and adventure movies. We hear about them all the time simply because they have gigantic marketing budgets so everyone hears about them constantly. They are by far though the minority of films that exist. So while they might not be remembered 50 years from now I'm more then willing to indulge in some fun with friends a bag of popcorn and some MST3K action for 2 hours. I'm so sorry that it's not a "real film" if I don't cry 5 times throughout it.

AVATAR The Game: Story and Features

Alright so AVATAR The Game isn't an MMO? DID I MISS A MEMO, like what the hell. I remember for the last year are so up until about this summer that it was going to be an MMO. Now according to this video it's a 15 hour campaign where you play humans for a shooter for like 7 hours and as a Na'vi in a more melee focused campaign. Now I'm not saying thats bad in fact the game looks pretty dam good and I really do like Ubisoft. On top of that they've been working on this for 2 1/2 years unlike most movie games where you only have 10-14 months. Still when the hell did this become a third-person single player game and not an MMO. Seriuosly how did I miss that?

3D custom and perscription glasses coming this Fall

Alright guys it was reported by Variety and I found it through Marketsaw that Technicolor will be starting to make custom made 3d glasses for movies. The glasses are reportedly going to be available before Avatar hits the theaters this december. This is huge and I and everyone else saw this coming for a while now. Everyone knows the glasses are a bit clumsy with their one size fits all feel. So this is great especially when so many movies are going to be coming in 3D. While thats all great the HUGE part of this announcement is that they will also be selling perscription versions of the glasses for people who already wear glasses. Anyone who wears glasses (I Do) knows that wearing both glasses has always been an inconvience we just had to deal with. No longer though and it has been reported that the glasses will be able to double as sunglasses by changing the angle of polarity (no clue how that works). Of course perscription glasses for anyone cost a pretty penny and with this new 3D tech in them, this won't be a purchase for everyone but for me it's a must get.

Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 Trailer

I've been pretty hit or miss with Michael Bay's horror remakes. I really enjoyed the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre they did with Jessica Biel but the sequel was unwatchable. Then there was Friday the 13th last year and I just couldn't really get behind it and found it to be a waste of time. Now we finally get a trailer for Nightmare on Elm Street and I think it looks pretty dam good. The casting is just inspired having Jackey Earl Haley (Rorscach) take over Rober Englunds shoes whose been playign Freddy Krueger for the last 20 years. While it's a bit weird to see someone else play the iconic role this looks really promising. The movie is coming to a theater near you April.30,2010 enjoy!

Halo: Legends Footage Premiered. Does the Horror Continue?

I've been more then vocal about my thoughts on what I consider the total basterdization of the Halo franchise. Well we finally have some footage and no it isn't a trainwreck but it also doesn't mean this piece of shit still shouldn't exist. The animation quality is pretty good but there is still something wrong about seeing Master Chief in japanimation and ODST soldiers with spiky hair. The one thing that makes this footage tolerable is that there are no little girls with teddy bears in sight. Don't be fooled though that footage will be in the final film, as shivers run down my back. I dread and eagerly await the release of this film.

Please let me know your thoughts either here or in todays question of the day.

Patrick Swayze Dead at Age 57

Today on September 14th 2009 the great Patrick swayze lost his battle with cancer. I grew up in a house hold with a mom who absolutely loved Dirty Dancing and Ghost. I have some great childhood memories sitting down with my mom when I was little and watching Ghost when it would come on the WB or TBS.

RIP you will be greatly missed.

Michael Jackson: This Is It Trailer

The film/documentary shows some of the last footage ever captured of the King of pop preparing for his farewell tour in London "This Is It". The tour was set to begin in July just two weeks after Jackson's death. The film is coming to theaters for 2 weeks only on October 28th. Love or hate him there is no doubt MJ left his mark on the music indrusty and world as a whole. Jamon!

Movie Review: Adventureland

I never had a chance to see Adventureland in the theaters when it first came out, and I really didn't have much of a desire to. The movie looked like your standard dumb comedy featuring Ryan Reynolds and Bill Hader. Well, I've recently gotten a chance to see it on dvd, and it turns out the movie is nothing of the sort and those two actors actually play secondary characters.

Adventureland stars Kristen Stewart, best known for her role in Twilight and Jesse Eisenberg, whom I haven't seen in much of anything, honestly. Seeing as how I've never seen Twilight, both of these actors seemed pretty much unknown to me, and it helped me connect much more to their characters, instead of seeing them as actors. Not only that, but both of them do such a great job in their roles that it was hard not to be captivated.

The movie is mostly a love story, but it's told in such a way that it doesn't seem forced, it doesn't seem like that's all it's focusing on, and it makes the movie feel a whole lot more realistic. The movie takes place in 1987, and while I wasn't alive back then, I definitely get the sense that that's what the time was really like. Nothing seems overly idealistic, and it really makes the movie feel a lot more genuine.

All of the characters in the movie have such diverse personalities that it's hard not to identify with at least one of them. Not to mention all of the actors do a superb job of playing their roles. Although, admittedly, Ryan Reynolds felt a lot just like Ryan Reynolds, and he seemed a bit out of place surrounded by such a great unknown cast.

I'm not sure if it's all of the 80's music and fashion, but the movie itself feels like something that should have come out in the 80's. I can compare it to movies such as The Breakfast Club or Ferris Buller's Day Off in that it deals with teenage problems, but doesn't do it in an overbearing manner, and still ends up having a good sense of humor.

Overall, I really enjoyed Adventureland, I went in with low expectations and came out absolutely stunned by how great the movie was. I'm impressed by how much realism was put into the movie, and it feels like something that could happen in real life, with real people, instead of your standard sappy love story. I recommend this movie to anybody who feels like they've lost somebody, or anybody who has a good sense of humor. Or you know what... I just recommend this movie to anybody at all. If you haven't seen it, go see it.

I give Adventureland a 5 out of 5.

Movie Review: 9

So, I went to the theater the other day and saw 9. I haven't really seen much of anything about the movie aside from a few commercials on TV, and I wasn't really expecting much going in, especially since I had heard Tim Burton was involved, and he hasn't had much of anything good lately. I was expecting a fun sci-fi animated movie, with some cool action scenes and not much else. I must say, though, when I left the theater, the movie surpassed my expectations.

"9" is about a series of hand-made robots, all made by this scientist, and they're numbered 1-9. Each of the robots has a great personality, and they all play well off of each other throughout the course of the movie. The main character, however, would have to be Number 9, who is an overall very likable character throughout the movie.

The story is what really captivates you about the whole movie, and they tend to get pretty deep. I don't want to give too much away, but the 9 robots are the saviors of humanity, and they have to fight off evil robots. The whole thing feels somewhat like a metaphor for the people vs. the government, and is a lot, especially for a kid's movie. Oh, but that's right, this is rated PG-13, and the rating shows through, with the movie's surprisingly dark tone.

Over the course of the movie, we see many of the nine robots apparently being killed by this giant robot, and without too many spoilers, there's a slight twist at the end that I wasn't really expecting. The action scenes are good too, and everything is very nicely animated, with a very nice art style to everything.

Overall, 9 is a fun movie with a bit of a deep story to it, the whole thing seems like a kids movie, but then it really surprises you with it's dark tone, and overbearing metaphors. However, a lot of this is easy to ignore, so if you're just looking for a fun sci-fi movie, this is for you, or if you're looking for a bit more, this is also for you.

I give 9 a 4 out of 5.

Visual Effects: 100 Years of Inspiration

Here is a video from Collegehumor chronicling the past 100 years of special effects. The video is a great montage of how far effects have come and is a great watch for anyone unfamiliar with the special effects milestones of the past.

Trailers of the Month: August 2009

Ed's Picks

The imagination of Doctor Parnassus Trailer

Yes it has Heath Ledger, but I dismissed the movie because I knew it would capitalize on his death like The Dark Knight did. I also knew they would have to fill his screen time in with one of several actors named, I actually had no idea they would use them all. So now this movie seems interesting to me, it’s a great concept of changing the character with different actors at a time. Plus it looks fun.

Law Abiding Citizen Trailer

Recommended by Movie Blog owner John Campea, I was surprised. This looks extremely good, and its actually exciting me to see a movie based on the idea of a single man bringing down the entire US system, and yet I support the guy because of the filler in the beginning about his family. Sign me up.

The Wolfman Trailer

I agree with everyone else, it’s a remake that stays true to the themes of the original including the period and using the technology of today to make it even better.

Legion Trailer

In the first 30 seconds I see a sweet little old lady, in the next minute I see a sweet little old blood smeared lady climbing the walls and a movie dealing with God and Angels. Sounds like an interesting premise with action, cool.

Astroboy Trailer

Yes you’re probably going WTF. But really, watch the trailer and tell me you didn’t smile once. I love the cast, I love IMAGI Animation, I love Animation in general, and this looks like plain fun with some heart.

TJ's Picks

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus Trailer

It's been an awfully long time since I throughly enjoyed a Terry Gilliam movie. He's one of my absolute favorite directors to watch work. For the first time in what feels like forever he seems to be going back to his roots. The films that made him a legend, from Holy Grail, to Brazil, To The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. Of course I'm interested to see Heath ledger's last performance but it's a serious back seat to me simply wanting to get my fill of the great Terry Gilliam.

The Lovely Bones Trailer

I feel like we've been waiting forever for this film to come out. Now that we have our first look I couldn't be anymore excited. The movie is based on a book about a girl that is murdered and is inbetween worlds trying to help her family deal with the grief of loosing her while helping to solve the case of her murder. Peter Jackson is one of those guys that is on my very short list of directors that hasn't made a bad film. I enjoy King King, yes!

The Wolfman Trailer

I'm so disappointed that the film isn't coming out this October. It's coming February 12th 2010 I believe. But if it means they are making it better then I'm all for it. Benicio Del Toro looks like it might be the most inspired casting of the last decade. While I'm not a huge fan of the directore (Jurassic Park III) it really looks like from the trailer that they got the tone right and thats huge.

Law Abiding Citizen Trailer

I didn't even know about this Gerard Butler, Jamie Foxx movie until I saw this trailer a week ago. Usually that isn't a good sign if I don't even know what your movie is. It comes out in a few weeks and looks rather interesting. I'm typically not into thrillers but this one has got me excited. Sadly it looks like one of those thrillers where the ending will probably be a let down but still worth taking a look at.

Legion Trailer

Paul Bettany is one of my favorite character actors and almost always gives his best. Even when he's not in the best movies he's always fantastic. Then there's Dennis Quaid who is a bit more hit or miss but usually solid. Oh and did I forget to add there is a battle between Heaven and Earth. Angels warring against the planet trying to kill the child of a small town girl being protected by Paul Bettany a fallen angel. This should be a ton of fun at the movies.

And there you have it our trailers of the month. Hope you watched and enjoyed.
