Drink Reviews: Amp Energy Overdrive, Turbo Boost Cherry

Hey everybody, welcome to a new feature that I will be doing on Geeksquisite, Drink Reviews. In this feature, I will be reviewing many various drinks, ranging from energy drinks, to mixed drinks, to various types of beers.

For this first installment, I'm reviewing an Amp Energy. I haven't really tried many of the flavors of Amp, besides the standard green one, which I enjoy very much. For this review, though I tried the Cherry Amp. Now, I never realized this before, but all of the Amp Energy cans have the Mountain Dew logo on them. For the longest time I thought it was only on the green one. However, this drink tastes nothing like Mountain Dew.

The taste of the drink is incredibly piercing, it's almost like swallowing a big can of electricity. the cherry flavor is over-masked by what I assume to be energy supplements, making it taste more like cherry medicine then anything else. There's not much of an aftertaste, and I for one say that's a good thing. In terms of texture, the drink goes down smooth, provided you can handle the initial taste, which makes it somewhat easier to drink then other bad-tasting energy drinks.

Recommended way to drink: Personally, I wouldn't recommend drinking this at all, but if you had to, for a bet, or if you had nothing else to drink, I'd say chugging is the best way to go. Get it all done in a couple of big swigs, and get it over with.

Overall, I give Amp Energy Overdrive, Turbo Boost Cherry a 2 out of 5.
