Last 2 Left 4 Dead 2 campaigns revealed

This feels like i'll be role-playing the Dawn of the Dead remake when they are in the mall (but on overtime), AWWWWESOME!

Not much to say on this, sounds like the Swamp Fever level a little. Oh and since L4D is an Xbox console exclusive (yeah yeah it's on PC)franchise at the moment, why play Heavy Rain on PS3 when you can go HARDCORE and play HARD RAIN xD on Xbox.

Facebook, Twitter update to XBL has release date..sorta

Connected Consoles brings us a release date of the upcoming 2nd update to Xbox Live.

Problem is, Connected Consoles detailed this in their news:

Microsoft Xbox have today announced that the new system update that features new applications such as Twitter and Facebook will be arriving in the UK on November 17.

In the UK, will the date differ from the United States???

If so Connected Consoles should have pointed this out, it says UK but there is no mention of a US release date. Since this is a huge update, I am inclined to think this is the universal date for all consoles regardless of location.

So even with some uncertaintly, look out for the Facebook/Twitter update (in the UK at the least) on November 17th.

Harmonix doubts success of Beatles Rock Band DLC

Over on 1UP is an article regarding Harmonix and their uneasy feelings about paying the thousands of dollars to offer more Beatles songs as DLC:

"It's not like Rock Band where we wait for the masters to come in and just author them ... its like, send people to Abbey Road, use the original tape, separate them out," Harmonix representative John Drake told BBPS.

Fair enough, the Beatles is a highly guarded group in terms of profits ($$$), and Harmonix simply isn't sure "demand" will be there. But I honestly roll my eyes at the fact that they went through with the ridiculous royalties to make this game, and now decide to whine about how hard it is to make DLC.

Sure, they could just not do it and enjoy the "decent profit" they made, but of course they want more. Take the risk Harmonix, I want Help! to be released.

Left 4 Dead 2 Gametype announced

On Planet Xbox 360, Valve announced a new gametype in Left 4 Dead 2 titled Scavenge:

Scavenge mode challenges players to compete in round-based games of up to 8 players (Survivors vs. Infected). The Survivors must battle both the Infected and the clock as they collect gas cans to refuel a generator located in each map. Every can the Survivors pour into the generator scores their team a point and adds time to the clock.

So it's basically survival with a continuous attempt to fuel a generator in order to put more time on the clock, okay not a bad idea. I'll have to see how it plays, but if there is a timer, what happens when that runs out? Does the timer represent a moment of respite for players, so that when the timer runs out horde's start coming?

That would make sense, the hordes are so bad you HAVE to keep filling the generator so all you have to face is the enemy team of special infected. Thing is, that's probably a bad guess being I can't see the game type letting you avoid hordes just by adding to the clock. So what happens when the timer runs out? The round's over? Also doubt that, because it's kinda lame to see the round end when the timer runs out. Does the timer replace simply dying like in survival, letting you respawn to help your friends. I also doubt that because it would be redundant to respawn in a zombie survival game. But what significance does the clock running out have that overshadows the struggle to stay alive against the infected?

Trailers of the Month: September 2009

Hey everyone sorry were a few days late with these. Hope you enjoy.

ED's Picks:

From Paris with Love Trailer

Okay, this director who made Taken kept me entertained but also has a very fast paced movie direction. Having said that I liked Taken, and the idea of John Travolta being a cold, calculating no questions to ask partner to Meyer’s character made me consider this movie.

Trick or Treat Trailer

There has been very few good horror movies in recent years, mainly due to desensitization and lack of originality. Having said that, Trick or Treat has an interesting interweaving of four stories and I especially was curious to what was happening to the people and the “rules” you can’t break on Halloween. Could be fun.

A Christmas Carol Trailer

Why should I care about a story I’ve seen and heard so many times…
Jim Carrey as Scrooge
Zemeckis’s motion capture technology
I’m a Disney Fan
The trailer looked fun

A Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer

Hate remakes, but production values changed for Platinum Dunes regarding this movie. Jackie Early Haley seems like a good Freddy, I’ll have to see what rotten tomatoes rates this thing upon release though.

The Fantastic Mr. Fox Trailer

I think George Clooney should be in more roles period, I don’t see him enough. This looks like a great chance for him to perform, Owen Wilson’s character towards the end was pretty funny. And there is something about this movie’s animation style that is so appealing to me and so suited for this comedic take.

TJ's Picks:

A Nightmare on Elm Street Trailer

The biggest problem I've had with all these remakes is the actual photography. I don't like the look of Nispel's films. The cinematography just feels to clean and smooth for what I think a horror film should look like. That seems to continue from what I see in the trailer. Other then that though, I'm pretty excited mostly to see more of Jackie Earle Haley who is quickly becoming one of my favorite character actors.

Solomon Kane Trailer

I didn't even know about this movie before the trailer but I'm really excited. It looks like a ton of fun and a bit darker then your typical action movie. Adult themed fantasy films not geared towards children is pretty rare, so this should be fun.

Michael Jackson's This is It Trailer

Not sure how many people know this about me but i'm a HUGE Michael Jackson fan so it's impossible for me to not be looking forward to this film. Think of him what you will there's no doubt the late icon made one hell of a mark on music history.

Defendor Trailer

I'm a huge Woody Harrelson fan and can't wait to see this superhero comedy. It has this great quirk about it that I just can't wait to catch in theaters. I hope the movie lives up to the great trailer.

The Fantastic Mr. Fox Trailer

Aright so how awesome does this movie look? FUCKING AWESOME, thats it. This seems like just crazy enough it might just work ideas. I can't say I'm really a bit Wes Anderson film but I'm excited.

Star Fox in Iraq

I lol'd when I found this at Kotaku

Friday the 13th Sequel

I didn't see the remake of Friday the 13th, but then again the original movie didn't appeal to me. But of course when I heard about the remake I merely dismissed it because remakes haven't fared too well, and I couldn't see the remake even coming close to the original.

Marcus Nispel's past movies including the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake were lame, and he didn't want to do the remake of Friday the 13th, they had to almost beg him. So of course the movie had potential to fall short because the director's heart was not in it, and of course it was going to make money because it was a low budget production.

So, not surprisingly, IGN reports a remake coming on August 13th 2010.

I wish this had been a one time thing, I'm curious if Nispel directs the sequel because I doubt he wants to. Once again, begging someone to direct isn't good for vision.

Geek Gadgets: THE DENTAL INTRA-ORAL CAMERA!

A reader has found this week’s geek gadget for me. It is the Dental Intra-Oral Camera… Also known as a tiny webcam attached to a stick. On the website, it is billed for “enabling users to examine teeth, or other body parts by themselves or with the help of others, and viewing the pictures live on a computer.” WHO ELSE DOESN’T SEE THIS GOING HORRIBLY WRONG? We’ve all heard the gerbil stories from hospitals. I honestly am terrified at the thought that some people will buy this then decide with their friends. “HEY how cool would it be to look at the inside of my ass!”

Then reading forward after removing that horrible image from my head I realized the resolution of the image is a mere 320x240. My god the Lego studio kit had a better resolution from the webcam they gave you. The camera was in itself an interesting idea that I am sure initially meant well. Despite, I think we should leave looking at our teeth to the experts, and not our naturally hypochondriac selves.

If you ACTUALLY are interested in this product, it can be found here , for a price of $46.63 (you get what you pay for). You can also buy these in bulk… I guess to try to start a dental non-medical use camera business. Have fun this week, and I will be back next week with something much less disturbing (promise).
