TGS 09: No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle Video

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle is already sold for me. I will be buying the game when it comes out, it's been that way for a long time. But now, with this new video, they have sold me all over again... if that's possible.

Like, Holy shit! Shinobu! As a playable character!

to anybody who's played the first game, this is pretty fucking awesome. Also, the amount of new enemies in this trailer really make me wonder about how much new stuff they've packed into the game, not to mention the slightly more mature Killer 7 vibe I'm getting off of a lot of the stuff in the trailer. Maybe Suda 51 is going back to a bit more mature tone in this game... maybe it's just the whole decapitated head part. Either way, it makes me very excited for when the game is finally released in January 2010. Looking forward to it! Hell yeah!

No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle Developer Video

I had recently seen the Developer video that Suda 51 has made that was shown at PAX 2009.

You can watch it here.

The developer video not only shows off some cool things about the game, but is well put together, and is really entertaining. Suda Goichi(Suda 51) is probobly one of my favorite developers, and I really think he understands that a game should be made fun before it's made great from a technical standpoint.

The video showed off some new features, such as new type of beam katanas you can unlock and the introduction of 2D jobs which, as you can see to the right, they look like they came straight out of a game on the NES or SNES. He also talks a bit about some of the new boss battles, and how you could be fighting multiple enemies, which seems like fun, however he doesn't show us too much just to avoid any spoilers. He also mentions improved AI, some new wrestling moves, the ability to dismember enemies in a few more ways... lots of small, but welcome changes.

The graphical quality of the game looks slightly more crisp than the last game, and it's definitely looking great for what the Wii can pump out. I was already sold on the game, but now after watching this trailer and seeing some gameplay, It looks to be an allover more polished game than the first, which had it's fair share of glitches, despite being incredibly satisfying and fun. Be sure to look for the game when it hits stores January 2010.

No More Heroes coming to Xbox?

Desperate Struggle to be finale for Wii

The Developer CEO of No More Heroes has signaled it's departure from the Nintendo Wii and has expressed interest in going beyond the limits of the Wiimote to the Xbox and Natal.

Natal has been a controversy for the revolution in motion controller technology it could represent but also for how it could lose its appeal quick, and be a big flop for the Xbox 360. So it doesn't hurt when a franchise exclusive to the Wii will stand behind the technology. You can't blame the open window Natal appears to offer for the motion driven gameplay in the No More Heroes series.

If they are moving away from being an exclusive Wii title to go to Xbox, I bet Grasshopper wouldn't look towards the PS3 with the complexity issues for developing with the PS3 and its motion controller being as limited as the Wiimote.

So Natal has another positive on it's side in that it is attracting developers, and if Grasshopper decides to go, Xbox users get an exclusive title from the franchise.

We'll see what they decide. I for one don't show much interest in the game...yet. Lets hope moving to the 360 gives it a chance to change it's look a little, the graphics don't appeal to me much.
