Geeksquisite Question of the Day #2: 7/11/09

This question came to me when thinking about what I love and hate about standing in lines. I hate standing in lines for shit I don't care about but love nothing more then being in line for a midnight premiere of a movie or a video game that I can't wait to play.

Question #2:

What was your best experience waiting in line for something that you wanted?

  1. My favorite waiting in line for something came with the release of Halo 2 at midnight November 9th 2004. It was so amazing I was at the mall and there were 800-1000 people in line waiting to get into the gamestop. It felt almost surreal. I played online that night for 7 straight hours before finally having to get ready for school and then right after school that day I skipped homework and played through most of the campaign and multilplayer all night. Best 24 hours ever and it started with a line that I'll never forget.

  2. I've waited in line for a few things, the best one I can remember was for The Dark Knight. That movie was so awesome, and it felt so calming and yet exciting to stand there around midnight waiting to go in. Everyone around you was excited for the movie, and OMG it was tense when someone we knew came in line drawing whispers and anger from others. I was like OMG let me in before the blood sheds, pleeeease. :D

  3. when I was waiting in line for GTAIV, it was more just like a waiting party, lol
Everybody got a number, like usual, but they had Rock Band set up, and a bunch of other demo kiosks, so nobody was really "on line" technically.

plus, I had a jacket on that looked like something Nico Belic would wear, which was pretty cool at the time... before the game came out, lol

  4. I personally have never waited in line for any game, but when the Wii first came out some of my friends camped out in front of Target. They called me up and I spent a lot of the time keeping them company and I even brought them brownies and Chinese food. LOL
