The Dating♥Sim Review

This is Geeksquisite author Steph here with The Dating♥Sim Review. Today we're going to take a look at Snow Sakura: a visual novel for mature audiences only! Legend has it that once a year a sakura tree will bloom flowers in the middle of winter. Does such a cherry tree really exist?

Yuuji Tachibana is an unfortunate teenager who is abandoned by his parents (who get up and move to Hawaii without telling you, oops) and leave you to the care of your uncle.

You now live with your uncle and his daughter, Saki Tachibana, in the snowy winter fairy land of Hokkaido. Saki is a typical tsundere anime girl and her friends are just as annoying.

Thanks Dad

The next characters you'll be introduced to include your spastic klutz teacher, Misato Souya, and her shy clumsy younger sister named Misaki Souya. You'll also meet Misaki's friend and number one fan girl Kozue Hiyama. Kozue is best described as tolerable until she opens her mouth. There is only one other male besides yourself; your friend Sumiyoshi Itou is just a generic forgettable character, so don't worry about him. Rei Kisaragi, a blue haired meganekko, is probably the only character that isn't completely useless, thus she became my romance target.

I played this game once through and didn't get a single hentai scene. I witnessed one hot spring scene with my cousin, but she had a Barbie doll situation. (My version isn't censored, so I blame this on lazy animation.) After the game ended without an ending I decided to use a walkthrough. I started over from the beginning and used the magic skip option to breeze through the dialogue.

Story: 5/10
The story seems like it still needs a little work. It's basically your parents disappear, you're unsupervised with girls, you get drunk, you go to sleep, then wake up and do it all over again. I'd recommend this game if you're really into anime and anime shenanigans.

Graphics: 6/10
It looks like a normal dating sim. You can change between full screen view and window view which is really convenient. The art is very nice although the characters tend to make the same facial expressions: http://animegirlsexpression.ytmnd.com/

Sound: 4/10
The background music is nothing special. The game is fully voiced which means the hentai scenes are full of loud anime girl cries.

Gameplay: 5/10
It plays out like any other visual novel/dating sim. Your choices are pretty limited too.

Overall: 5/10
Like I said before if you absolutely love anime you'll enjoy this game. If you're not that big into anime leave Snow Sakura off your 'To-Do' list.

Note: If you'd like to recommend any dating sims for me to play/review feel free to leave a comment in one of my posts.
