Geeksquisite Question of the Day #10: 7/19/09

This question came to me when thinking about the other night hanging with a few fellow authors talking about going to concerts. I remember the first real concert I went to I was like 11, it was a great show.

Question #10: What are some great concert experiences you have had?

  1. I don't normally go to concerts, cause I don't really have the money for it, but one time I went to this place called Traxx Bar... it was called that cause it was by the railroad station. I went there to see my friend's band Broke Stone, it was thier debute gig and they rocked like fucking rock gods!

After they were done playing, I was talking to them and saying how awesome they were, and then my buddy who played guitar in the band bought me a drink at the bar. Now, at the time, I was only 19, but I definitely looked over 21. Since I was with the band, the bartender didn't card me, and I got drinks all night, it was pretty sweet. The band on after them was some punk rock band and then an Iron Maiden/Judas Priest cover band. Overall, it was a pretty fun night.

  2. I'm not a fan of concerts, but I've been to a few. My first concert was the All-That Music And More Festival in Jones Beach. LOL It was so shitty! I've also seen the Blue Man Group, TM Revolution, and Nana Kitade in concert. BMG was pretty cool, but I didn't enjoy all the flashing lights. TMR sucks balls and we only saw Nana Kitade because the tickets were free and we heard she was holding a guitar and pretending to play. (This turned out to be true as we watched her playing a guitar that was not plugged in.)

  3. I've never really been to any indie type of shows or local shows. I've only been to big concerts I've seen Aerosmith like 3 times, The Who, The Eagles, and more. I'm not a huge music guy to be honest but live music is so amazing and nothing really compares. Aerosmith has been my favorite group though great shows.
