Geeksquisite Question of the Day #28: 8/6/09

This question came to me when watching Tudors on Netflix. While it isn't historically correct I still enjoy the setting of the story they are telling.

Question #28: What is your favorite (Real) time period, and why?

  1. My personal favorite time period has to be ROME at the high of the empire. TV Series like ROME, movies like Spartacus and Gladiator just draw me in and never let go. The people the values the honor, that idealistic romanticism. Now maybe we in modern days glorify it in a way that it never really was but I always enjoy seeing the time period interpreted on film regardless of if it's accurate.

  2. The Civil War, the biggest internal conflict in US History, something I would have willingly stood up for to free the slaves and unite the North and South. Tricky time for our country, I would have been a diplomat during the time.

  3. I would definitely say the 70's.
Music was great, movies were cool, sex was a lot more prominent. And there was overall a lot less hate in the world than there is today.

  4. I'm torn between the 80s and Rococo. I love the faux futuristic feel of the 80s; I wish we had more synthesizers, leg warmers, and big hair! Rococo is more about slobbish elegance; life is nothing but sweet food, cute clothes, and sleepin' late.
